Less than two months after debuting his first full length album “Angel Face”, Stephen Sanchez took Deep Ellum by storm at the Factory Saturday night. Following an opening performance from Stephen Day and his band, Sanchez kicked off the show with the beautifully, heart-wrenching piano ballad of “Something About Her,” as the crowd was captivated. As the concert rolled on, Sanchez and his band rocked more songs off of the singer’s most recent album, which then lead up to an energetic cover of Ray Orbison’s “Pretty Woman,” making he crowd go absolutely wild.

The entire concert experience felt as if you were somehow teleported back to the 1950’s, not just because of the musicians on stage, but also from the fans. Many of whom, donned old school leather jackets and button up cardigans that looked like something straight out of Grease. After witnessing firsthand the stage presence, musicianship, and overall aesthetic of the artist, it’s not hard to assume that Sanchez might just become this generation’s Elvis Presley, at least in the way of style and vibe. After the phenomenal performance Sanchez gave Saturday night, even the King himself would be proud.
